Albert Greer - Mountain Man |
||||||
We were fortunate beyond our knowing to
have had Albert for our neighbor for many years. He knew the land and
the woods and all the old ways of mountain farm life. He came with seed
potatoes in early spring and helped plant our first garden. He came at
hog-killing time, full of stories and jokes and laughter, to show us how
things were done. Whatever we were doing, Albert could tell us a 'trick
or two' to help things along. He loved to tell us about the old days and
we loved to listen. We miss him, and the mountains miss him. |
