Rembert Family Favorite Recipes
Grandmommie's Barbeque Sauce
1 cup tomato ketchup
1 cup water
1 med. onion, chopped
1 tsp salt
1 tsp chili powder
1 TBL dry mustard
1 TBL brown sugar (Use more if you wish.)
2 TBL vinegar ( I use terragon wine vinegar.)
2 TBL worchestershire sauce
Mix and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer gently for about 2 hours. Cover, but leave lid open a little. Stir every now and then. Refrigerate. I store this sauce in a pint jar. Add Texas Pete if you wish the sauce hotter.
Recipe may be doubled with no problem.
