PETER (PIERRE) VIDEAU, planter, & JANE ELIZABETH his wife,(& with her free consent), to ANDREW REMBERT, shoemaker, of Berkeley Co., for L25 currency, 30 a. (part of 100 a.) bounding NW on ANDREW DEVEAUX (formerly PHILYMON PARMETER), NE on JOHNSON LYNCH; SE on ANDREW REMBERT; SW on other part of 100 a.; provided ANDREW REMBERMT & JUDITH his wife, or any of their children possess it; but not to dispose of the 30 acres to any one but PETER VIDEAU or his son HENRY JOSEPH, he or they paying as much as anyone else would. JANE ELIZABETH renounces her dower. Whereas WILLIAM, Earl of Craven, Palatine, & the Lords Proprs. on 9 Sept. 1696 granted PETER VIDEAU 100 a., English measure, in Berkeley Co., on E side Cooper River, now VIDEAU sells 30 a. to REMBERT with a proviso. PETITION: In 1770 the Episcopalians of the High Hills declaring that their district was "a very populous and growing settlement crowded with people," petitioned the Assembly for aid in building a chapel of ease for St. Mark's Church at or near the plantation of Peter Mellett, to be under the Jurisdition of the parish vestry.
