FINAL RITES HELD JANUARY 17TH FOR MRS. BELLE GOODWIN
Final rites for Mrs. Belle McGehee Goodwin, 69 year old resident of Marshallville, were held at 3 o'clock Thursday afternoon, January 17th. Mrs. Goodwin died at her residence early Wednesday afternoon after a short illness.
A life-long and prominent resident of Marshallville, Mrs. Goodwin was born there on September 8, 1876, the daughter of the late William Felder and Eliza Belvin McGehee Felder, natives of Houston County. She was the widow of the late C. J. Goodwin and an active member of the Methodist Church and the Stephen Hopkins Chapter D.A.R.
Mrs. Goodwin is survived by one sister, Mrs. J. M. Jones of Marshallville; six nephews, W. J. McGehee of Greenville, S.C.; Charles McGehee and Jasper Slappey of Bainbridge; G. H. Slappey of Atlanta; W. W. Slappey of Marshallville and S. J. McGehee of Fort Valley; four nieces, Mrs. R. M. Bullock of Birmingham, Ala., Mrs. C. W. King of Bainbridge; Mrs. Jack Williamson of Eulonia (?) and Mrs. Harold Naugle of Marshallville and several great nieces and nephews.
Services were conducted from the residence, the Rev. C. E. Means officiating and interment was in the Marshallville Cemetery.
Pallbearers- not copied.
The Montezuma Funeral Home was in charge.
