Peter Dubose, Jr. and his wife Sarah lived near Lynches Creek in S. C. until 1777 when they moved to Georgia, where he received a grant of 575 acres. There is a revolutionary indent for payment to Peter DuBose for use of his "Masonic Lodge and House" at Jacksonborough in Colleton County for the meeting of the Assembly in 1782. They had four children, perhaps nine.
50. Capt Publius James REMBERT
Captain James Rembert of Rembert Hall, Sumter district, SC, was a wealthy planter, and a very active Methodist. He is mentioned frequently in the "journals" of Bishop Asbury. In his will dated 7 Sep, 1812, he says, "First: I give wholly for the use of the Methodist Society in this neighborhood, the meeting house on Home Swamp, together with two acres of land around same." He served in the Revolutionary War.
